Thanks to my friend who invited me to open an account with GMail few years back. I remember the first thing I noticed after logging in was that Google’s email had a simplistic interface, which I liked. The UI of GMail was drastically different than anything I’ve ever used for email before. Here are a few excellent advantages of having a Gmail account:
The Standard version of GMail is supported on most browsers. If you are on an older version of Internet Explorer or Netscape then you don't get all the features but you do get a basic HTML version.
You can configure your GoogleMail address to work with Outlook if you would rather use MS Outlook or keep more than one email address together. I find though that even after only a relatively short time, I hardly ever use my other email address now. I can go days and days without even checking it The advantage of using the POP settings is you can work off line and access your emails, so read and reply off line, then connect to send and receive.
I love the fact that all the contacts are auto-stored so you do not have to do anything. If you want to send an email, you can just type the first letter of their name in the "to:" box and you will get a drop down menu.
The next unique part is that all the email replies are stored as one continuous conversation. So you might be having say 10 conversations with different people going on at once, and instead of 100 emails, you will just have 10 conversations in your Inbox. You can expand and collapse the conversation, and forward or reply from any point.
You also notice that there are not any advertisements with GoogleMail like there are with Hotmail and other providers.
Since I opened an email account I have never had any problems signing in, unlike on Hotmail which does go down from time to time.
Attaching files to an email is really quick and simple on GMail. Compared to Hotmail, its a whole lot quicker and better. Try and see.
I did not hold a very technical approach to this review, but I guess that it gives an idea to all of how good this email provider is.

There goes another website for all the Digg fan boys and techno geeks – Pownce, a website and desktop application that allows users to send music, photos, messages, links, and events to friends. When you send your file, link, message, or event you have the ability to broadcast it to your entire list or message people individually.
File size is limited to 10mb per file sent, or for twenty dollars yearly you can sign up for a “pro” account, which allows you to send files up to 100MB. (Note: the pro account also makes it so you won’t see ads and you get a special badge next to your name)
Review: In few recent articles I read, people claimed that Pownce might be a Twitter killer, but I don’t agree to the same. Yes Pownce is a lot similar to Twitter as it has desktop applications. But I guess it is based on communication of information not information communication. Its impossible to block or remove unwanted spammers or e-stalkers. Lack of SMS and RSS feeds breaks the communication chain. May be all these are very minor flaws but do we want to see too many of them?
On the other hand, re-locating people on Pownce is very easy, with an added plus of the friends of friends feature. This is something Facebook and a few others could do with looking at.
One major pet peeve I have about social networking or social bookmarking or microblogging websites is that they do not allow us to use our e-mail address book to see if friends are already on the site. Pownce doesn’t allow you to check for that, plus their search is rather clumsy.
Overall, Pownce is a nice site and application but the functionality can be questioned until they make some changes, this site is just for early adopters and not all that practical.

So what is eMarketing and how is it any different from internet marketing that we see and hear so much of in today’s online society?
Emarketing includes much more than just internet marketing and more than just website promotion, although it does include both of those. So while internet marketing will tend to include Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Search Advertising (or Pay Per Click), Link Development, Banner advertising etc., e-marketing takes the reach a step further. Emarketing extends to cover all methods of communicating with your customers electronically, not just through the internet but also through email marketing, business blogging, mobile messaging, podcasting and the like.
A good website is the face of a company and as for website promotion, well that is only part of the goal at the end of the day. A company’s website is at the core of all emarketing activity and provides a focal point for it and the sales opportunities that it must provide. However, this neglects the fact that these elements in themselves can work strongly in branding an organisation and its activities, can strengthen customer and business relationships as well as develop trust which influences far more than simply the desire to visit a company website.
Emarketing is certainly a powerful business builder, particularly integrated emarketing which links with offline marketing efforts. However, it goes much further than that and offers the marketers of today opportunities to take the process several steps further as well.
